Nature and bird lovers, pay attention and mark your calendars.
As if the beaches and fishing weren’t enough of an attraction to Grand Isle, LA, there’s the Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration.
Every year, Grand Isle, Louisiana hosts a beautiful congregation of birds which was started in 1998 as part of an effort to preserve the natural live oak ridges. Sadly, only 10% of the original habitats on the island remain, making this a vital preservation effort.
This year, the celebration, which is called the Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration, will occur on April-21-23.
Birdwatching, island history tours, bird crafts, artwork, prizes and more await attendees.
“The Migratory Bird Celebration is definitely a special event that brings many visitors to Grand Isle,” explains David Kedzierski, owner and realtor at Coastal Realty Group. “Come and enjoy the celebration, then go hit the beaches and partake in the incredible fishing.”
