Birdwatchers and nature fans, mark your calendars!

The Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration is coming very soon. This year’s celebration is going to be held Friday to Sunday, April 20-22, throughout the town of Grand Isle.

“After a long flight across the Gulf of Mexico, migrating birds flock to Grand Isle to rest after their difficult journey. The island has become one of the best places in the world to see the variety of species flying north,” said Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle. “The Migratory Bird Festival not only celebrates their arrival but provides easy viewing access to visitors.”

A beautiful, annual Grand Isle tradition celebrating nature

Every Spring, visitors from all over converge in Grand Isle, Louisiana for an incredible annual event.

The Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration had its start back in 1998 as part of an effort to protect and preserve undeveloped live oak ridges, (only 10% of the habitats that once were on Grand Isle remain).

Grand Isle happens to be a vital stopover for songbirds as they make their migration journeys across the Gulf of Mexico. This “rest stop” makes for an outstanding event that’s very family-friendly.

Bring the whole gang along for all manner of fun events, including:</br clear=right>
